Is it Ok for Christians to be Judgmental?

Humans are judgmental by nature. I don’t know the reason why people can’t stop judging one another. Maybe because we are also observant by nature and we cannot avoid seeing bad stuff from other people especially when we are aware of what’s good and bad and what the difference between right and wrong is. I begin to wonder if it is just ok for us Christians to judge other people since we are all sinners ourselves.

*What does the Bible say about being judgmental? Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:1

It was clear that the Bible discourages us from being judgmental because it might backfire to us and we might not like the result. This verse serves as a warning against hypocrisy and, at the same time, an exhortation to right living.

*Do we have the right to judge other people based on observation or personal opinion? To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue. Proverbs 16:1 Continue reading “Is it Ok for Christians to be Judgmental?”

Is it Ok for Christians to Support Death Penalty?

As a health care provider, my main goal is to help the sick recover from their illness and to prolong life in the most applicable way possible. Even if euthanasia or mercy killing is being practiced in hospital, I still believe that man must die according to the will of the Lord. Obviously, my side sticks with the disagreement on putting back death penalty. Although this is legal and being practiced in some countries, many are still asking if it is ok for Christians to support death penalty to be brought back as punishment to criminals who committed hideous crimes.

*Are you in favor of death penalty? Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.  Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12: 17-19 Continue reading “Is it Ok for Christians to Support Death Penalty?”

God has created animals to become our companion in this world and at the same time the food that we eat. There are animals that cannot be eaten but becomes extinct and sometimes even disappear the existence of its species in the Kingdom Animalia. Since it has a purpose why animals were created by God for us humans, do you think it is ok for us Christians to hunt them for sport and not for food?

*What does the Bible say about people hunting animals for sport? The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man’s precious possession. Proverbs 12:27

During the time of Jesus, it was not a common practice for the people to hunt for animals because they had their food readily available in their backyard or they have to buy or trade for it. However, some practiced hunting before but not for sports. Man hunted animals for food. But some used animal furs for clothing and other materials. Is it Ok for Christians to Consult Spirit Guides?

Are you familiar with spirit guides? They are the ethereal beings that are said to be assigned to us even before we are born that help nudge and guide us through life. Their duty is to help us fulfill the spiritual contract we make with ourselves before we incarnate. And this only applies to those who believe in reincarnation though. Now for us Christians, are we supposed to believe in spirit guides ourselves? Let’s see what the Bible has to say about this matter.

*What do they say about believing in spirit guides in the Bible? A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads. Leviticus 20:27

In the past, mediums or other forms of spirit guides were condemned by the people and were put to death. This could only mean that it is not allowed and Christians are prohibited to consult in them because they are not sent to us by the heavens but probably by the devil. Is it OK for Christians to Swear?

Our language is what we use in order to communicate with other people. It is important for us to communicate in order for us to convey a message or to be understood. But there is a very common issue that e deal with every day regarding the use of the language. People are wondering if it is ok for Christians to swear or to speak bad words.

I am a Christian but one of the problems I face every day is my foul mouth. I really can’t stop myself from swearing especially when I get mad or I’m pissed into something. It just comes out of my mouth especially when I’m arguing with someone and I am trying to prove a strong point. What should I do to avoid it?

*Is it Ok for anybody to swear to let people know that they are mad? I tell you on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak. Is It Ok For Christians To Go Clubbing?

Partying all night, going in and out of nightclubs, drinking, smoking and having sex; people go on clubbing for different reasons, but most of these reasons seem to be full of lustful desires. Frankly speaking, most of our religious enthusiasts consider nightclubs as a part of the world that is manipulated by Satan and all the things being done here are acts by the devil. They are designed for the purpose of giving in into one’s sinful desires. Some would probably defend themselves by saying that they just go there for music and dancing, but they cannot deny the fact that deep inside them there are irresistible desires they cannot control unless they don’t come to that place.

*Is there still hope for the people who do this? You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;  to be made new in the attitude of your minds;  and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24

There are some who got tired of partying especially when they grow old and become mature and responsible adults. But there are those who still can’t stop the call of sexual and other sinful desires. However, there is still hope for them. They just need to let go of this bad habit, ask for forgiveness to the Lord and repent, and walk through righteousness without looking back.

*What must you do to get over your sinful desires like to go clubbing? In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

To go clubbing is sometimes due to the influence of others like your friends. you are being called killjoy if you join them. But instead of being swayed and corrupted with their deceitful desires, why not influence them instead of doing something fun but righteous. You can either start a new hobby or sport or go nature tripping, mountain climbing, etc. These are not only productive but fun and righteous at the same time.
